No Alcohol Beverages

A few months ago, I reflected on Low-Alcohol drinks and the precedence of the ingredients in the Low-Alcohol drinks. Undoubtedly, low alcohol and no alcohol beverages are having momentum. Recently, I read an article in the New York Times about the best non-alcoholic beverages. I’ve got wholly intrigued by the herbaceous flavors described by Wirecutter in some of the drinks. So, I’ve got even more curious about this new trend well embraced by many over TikTok.

For instance, No & Low founders have been going hard for the last two years on Tiktok, spreading the word of the Non-Alc options available. In this regard, after a couple of months, posting their first Tiktok went viral with overwhelming feedback from the community. Therefore, I asked for some samples and received them this past month. I tried Pentire Adrift – Non-Alcoholic Spirit that emulates Gin and Figlia Fiore Alcohol-Free Aperitif with floral aromas reflected on the palate. Keep reading to find a wine blogger thoughts and experiences with No Alcohol Beverages.

Tonic & Pentire Adrift – Non Alcoholic Spirit – Mocktail

No alcohol Beverages - Tonic & Pentire Adrift - Non Alcoholic Spirit - Mocktail

After Wine, I usually crave Gin and Tonic. It’s my favorite cocktail to order at a bar. Hence, I wanted to try Pentire Adrift, as I read that it has botanical flavors such as Gin but without the alcohol. It is also imported from the UK. The description stated that it resembles the botanical flavors of rock samphire, sage, citrus, Cornish sea salt, and a unique Pentire plant blend. However, the listed ingredients are Water, British Sea Herb Extract Blend, Lemon Juice from Concentrate, Natural Flavors, acid, Malic Acid, Cornish Sea Salt, preservative, Potassium Sorbate. While I tried it, I noticed that the botanical blend is there, and it resembles Gin. Complementing it with Tonic and ice makes the difference, and I loved how similar it tastes to a Gin and Tonic. I liked it, and I recommend it to those like me who want the herbaceous flavors.

Figlia Fiore Alcohol Free Aperitif – Mocktail

No alcohol Beverages - Figlia Fiore Alcohol Free Aperitif - Mocktail

“Fiore,” which means flower in Italian, sets the expectations of this fragrant & floral-forward aperitivo. Figlia Fiore is very, indeed, very floral to my taste. It is almost like I am smelling a Rose and savoring it. I liked it as an alcohol-free aperitif, but I wanted to create a spritz and keep it no-alcohol. Since my second favorite drink is Aperol Spritz for summer days, I skipped the Prosecco and added a bit of Sprite to Figlia Fiore, ice, and topped it with Sparkling Water. I had to say I even shared it with many friends, and they loved it. They couldn’t believe all the ingredients were vegan and natural.

Ingredients: Filtered Water, White Grape Juice Concentrate, Ginger Juice, Lemon Juice, Rose Extract, Rosemary Extract, Natural Elderflower Flavor, Black Currant Juice Concentrate, Chamomile Extract, Ginseng Root, Lemon Balm Extract, Bitter Orange Rind, Fruit & Vegetables Extract.

Sparkling Wines with Alcohol Removed or No Alcohol

Is that even possible? Freixenet has a Sparkling Wine with removed alcohol available in Total Wine that I recently tried in Easter Brunch and surprisingly liked. It was not too sweet, refreshing, and accentuated cherry and berry flavors that I enjoyed. Also, No & Low Alcohol recently launched a non-alcoholic Sparkling Chardonnay available here that I still have to try.

My expectations over No Alcohol Beverages were shallow. But, I have to say I think that more than a trend, I believe it is a new beverage option that is here to stay while many of us have been on the look for different flavors and alternatives to no-alcohol drinks beyond kid’s juice or sodas.
