Wine Recommendations for Spring 2020

On my last post, I was recommending you to travel to Finger Lakes. A few weeks later, I find myself writing this post amidst the Coronavirus outbreak. There is a complete different outlook. From New York, where the epicenter of the US outbreak is growing exponentially, we have to keep trying to distract ourselves from the quarantaine that has been impossed. However, make sure that as I am writing this post, I am thinking of all of you. All of you who are being affected by a lost of employment in the hospitality industry or by having to laid off employees because of lack of business.

I hope we continue to support our restaurants by ordering for pick up or delivery. Moreover, I deeply wish that we continue to support our wineries by buying online or pick up whenever this is safe an possible. On the nose, offers floral and citrus aromas. On the palate, an explosion of tangerine and grapefruit flavors with a light and crispy texture.

Malene Cuvéé Rosé 2019 : An extremely expresive wine on the nose. Moreover, it almost leaps out of the glass with notes of peach, white grapefruit and peny. To the taste, the wine is bright and lively  with hints of strawberry and nectarine. The suggested wine pairing for this expressive Rosé will be pad thai, baja fish tacos and chicken quesadillas. Le Domaine d’Henri Les Allees du Vignoble Chablis 2018 : According to thedifferentdrop.com The Laroche family name is one of the most respected in Chablis, France. This old family has deep roots in the region, with a love for the terroir of Chablis being passed on from generation to generation since 1850. These wines are classic examples of the region. For instance, the fruit is picked at full ripeness, traditional winemaking is applied in the cellar (stainless for Petit and AC Chablis with old barrels utelised for the 1er cuveés). 2018 Vernaccia di San Gimignano “Goldvine” White Wine: A DOCG White Wine from Tuscany, Italy. Made out of Vernaccia Grapes. The quality of the 2018 vintage is good. Moreover, the quantity is excellent, with a 25% increase in production, compared to 2017 thanks to a favorable climatic trend. On the eyes, you can see a straw yellow color tending to golden with age. Fine, penetrating, fresh, fruity bouquet and a delicate, fruity flavour with a characteristic bitterish aftertaste.

2016 Vino Nobile di Montepulciano “GoldVine” Red Wine: Vino Nobile di Montepulciano DOCG Red Wine from Tuscany, Italy – Prugnolo Grapes
This wine is produced with selected grapes of Prugnolo, that are characteristics of the district of Montepulciano. The vintage 2016 was a regular season, with a slightly maturation and a season finale with some rain. Hence, the result is a more elegant Sangiovese than ever, which enhances its earthy and spicy tones. The bouquet opens to wild fruit aromas with distinct mineral tones, that define and delineate the aromatic offering. The mouthfeel reveals good complexity, his color is a strong ruby, brilliant color tending to garnet with age.

Wine Pairing: Vino Nobile di Montepulciano is the ideal companion for game and mature cheeses. Excellent with pasta with tasty meat sauce, roast meat, finely sliced raw meat and pecorino cheese.
