On February 23rd, I was honored to pour some of Burgundy’s Hidden Gems at La Paulée Off
Grid. The event was held at 26 Bridge, Brooklyn, New York.
La Paulée Off Grid
“Off Grid” wine tasting part of La Paulée events, the world’s most renowned Burgundy Festival founded by Daniel Johnes. The Off Grid Tasting brings attention to remarkable wines that are hidden gems and , ensures that Burgundy is celebrated not just for its expensive selections but for its diverse and reasonably priced everyday drinking wines. It featured over 75 wines from all major regions, including Chablis, Côte d’Or, Côte Chalonnaise, Mâcon, and Beaujolais, as well as a selection of Aligotés, curated by star sommelier Yannick Benjamin.
It was a unique professional opportunity, but it also allowed many New York Sommeliers to come together. From the great camaraderie while polishing, prepping behind the scenes was a great experience. Working aside, people have taught me about many wine regions of the world and have inspired me for the longest.
As part of Team Côte Chalonaisse, by assisting the Master Sommelier, Josh Nadel, was very
insightful. Pouring Côte Chalonnaise to many Burgundy lovers and discussing the gems of Givry, Rully and Mercurey subregions were top-notch.

As a blogger, I wanted to record everything to recap. Still, I was there as a sommelier, and I let myself fully
submerge in the experience, sharing the wines of Côte Chalonnaise and trying to pinch me for such a great experience. Hence, I didn’t take too many pictures of the event, so I appreciate the kindness of Michael Lipyanskiy, photographer, for sharing these shots with me.

I enjoyed every single moment. Long life to the sommeliers because, through service, people fall in
love with the most magical and unknown wine regions.
Moreover, I’m deeply thankful to my friends Yannick and Abe Zárate you guys are beyond inspiring to me.
Your professional service and hospitality skills, even when life gets in the middle, have shown me your
kindness and responsibility at the highest level.
