Let’s Make Your Grill Sizzle with Bodega Argento

Argentinian wines, with their unique and diverse flavors, are a delightful choice for meals and at a great price point. While the most famous wine from Argentina is Malbec, renowned for its perfect pairing with Argentinian barbecues (asado) and Empanadas, there are also out-of-the-asado savory options when it comes to wines from Argentina. This diversity is sure to pique your interest and excite your taste buds.

The world of Argentinean wines extends far beyond Malbec. Wines of Argentina offer a variety of flavors that beautifully complement a range of grilled dishes. From delectable and succulent to cheesy and vegetarian-friendly options.

Hence, I am sharing some savory and goey delicious grilling suggestions to pair with Bodega Argento, a producer that has stood out to me lately.

Meet Bodega Argento

Bodega Argento is located in Cruz de Piedra, Maipu, Mendoza, at the foothills of the Andes mountain range. Founded in 2012 to lead the production of organic and sustainable wines, it aims to preserve the best of the region in each bottle. The vineyards are located in the traditional area of Mendoza and the Uco Valley. The winery achieves a pure, organic, and classic style by carefully selecting micro terroirs and employing minimal intervention.

My conversation with the head Winemaker, Juan Pablo Murgia, at Bodega Argento in New York left a lasting impression. Their dedication to winemaking and commitment to biodiversity is truly inspiring. Their meticulous attention to detail and the craft of their soil result in high-quality wines. These wines offer great value for their price and are best enjoyed with exquisite food. This commitment is something to be appreciated and celebrated.

Let’s Make Your Grill Sizzle: Exciting Grilling Options

Otronia 45 Rugientes Rosé

This Rosé wine, made from 100% Pinot Noir, has a delightful scent of red fruits and flowers and a peppery flavor. It has been aged 20 months in a French oak barrel, giving it a fresh and balanced taste.

Grilled Vegetable Summer Salad is your math for this rosé! Intentional oak aging provides a medium-bodied wine that can hold its weight against seasonal titans such as zucchini, eggplant, bell peppers, and portobello mushrooms. Make sure to grill the vegetables on a stick, and you can add a drizzle of garlic, lemon, and olive oil before turning them into the heat.

Bodega Argento Single Vineyard Finca Agrelo Malbec

This unique wine is made from 100% organic Malbec grapes and is perfect for anyone who loves chilled red! It has a delightful aroma of plums, spices, and balsamic notes, and the taste is rich and smooth with a lively finish.

Skip the steak and elevate a summertime barbecue staple: the burger. The wine’s red fruit notes and medium body will be amplified with a Blue Cheeseburger, or you can choose a burger with sweet bacon jam to complement the spice notes. If you are a vegetarian like me, you can pair this with an Impossible patty burger.

Otronia 45 Rugientes Corte de Blancas

This white blend, ‘Corte de Blancas ‘, is like nothing I have tried before. A delicate balance of tropical fruits, citrus peel, and floral notes, it is a unique profile that hails from the southernmost vineyard in the world. This uniqueness is sure to intrigue you and make you eager to try this ideal pairing for many seasonal dishes.

Pair this unique white blend with grilled red snapper and lemon butter to complement the fruit-forward Corte de Blancas. The wine’s acidity will cut through the oily fish, while the minerality will mingle well with the lemon butter. I have also tried it with grilled vegetables, and it tastes delicious.
