Sella & Mosca NV Torbato Brut ($20)
New to the US market and the only example of sparkling Torbato in the world. Vibrant and elegant, this refreshing, mineral-driven white offers aromas of white spring flower, ripe orchard fruit and citrus blossom. Bright acidity frames the juicy pear, apple and flint flavors, while the crisp finish closes on a saline note. This is a fantastic wine from a grape grown only at the Sella & Mosca estate in Sardinia*. Review more info about Sella & Mosca here.
All of these wines are widely available in the US marked please go to
wine-searcher.com and find a store nearby or an online retailer that can ship these fabulous bubbles for your special occasion.
And for those looking for a red sparkling I had the perfect for you from the North Fork of Long Island! Actually I still have a bottle of this Pugliese Vineyards Sparkling Merlot but unfortunately was last available in October 2017, with an average price of $25. Perhaps you are still able to find it although in wine-searcher.com I couldn’t find it.
Also I wanted to let you know about another fabulous option on the Italian Market because sadly is not yet available in the US Market from a family owned winery and Vineyard of Asti Italy Matteo Soria :
Asti Extra Dry DOCG “Bric Prima Bella” – Matteo Soria (7 euros)
The Asti Extra Dry DOCG “Bric Prima Bella” by Matteo Soria was introduced in the company’s catalog starting from the 2017 harvest. Obtained from Muscat grapes grown in Castiglione Tinella, in the province of Cuneo, and refined on the lees for six months, it is a pleasantly fragrant wine with an inviting foam, able to give a sip of surprising freshness. Pair with light fare or desserts.
