Stoudemire Wines: A legend creates a Legacy

Last week I was invited to taste Stoudemire Wines from from NBA All-Star legend Amar Stoudemire. A couple of years ago he established a line of kosher wines produced in the Upper Galilee (imported and distributed by the Royal Wine Corp.) Amar Stoudemire is now collaborating with Herzog Wine Cellars to produce a Napa based Cabernet Sauvignon.

I was impressed how involved and connected is Amar on the winemaking of his Stoudemire wine portfolio. Hearing him talk about his wines was rejuvenating. Usually, celebrities in wine or spirits are speaking more on why they decided to include Wine or Spirits in their line of business rather than the how. His passion about Israel and winemaking surpassed the screen. Amar really make a point for sourcing one of his wines from Galilee Israel and another one from Napa, Valley. On the one hand, his affinity of his beliefs and the respect he has for to know where the source is coming from. On the other side, he wanted to make a good wine and make it affordable.

Rarely you see this type of connection on a celebrity wine. Amar Stoudemire passion for the luxury of live, food and wines really standout.

How would you define luxury?

Luxury has everything to do with great hospitality. That is what you get from Stoudemire Wines. Amar Stoudemire consciously thought about having an Israel Cabernet Sauvignon ($75 SRP) and also make luxury available to the rest of us: his Napa Cabernet Sauvignon ($25 SRP). This is not just another Cabernet Sauvignon, is luxury on a bottle. Tasting notes of red fruits and vanilla, medium and balanced tannins. The medium acidity makes it great to pair not only with steak but also with a savory Chicken Marsala for instance. Get Stoudemire wines here.
