#WineReviews Amethystos Blanc 2016

Amethystos Blanc is a white greek blend from the producer Costa Lazaridis. This wine is a greek staple wine and if you are new to the greek wines I recommend you to start with this producer. Great quality and value. I have visited their winery and vineyard already and I am very fond of their terroir located in the mainland of Greece. Probably you wull not find the same vintage available right now but trust me the upcoming vintages also have medium acidity to pair with seafood plates.

Tasting Notes

NAME: Amethystos Blanc 2016
VARIETAL: Sauvignon Blanc 85%, Assyrtiko 15%
PRODUCER: Domaine Costa Lazaridi
YEAR: 2016
COUNTRY:Greece
REGION: Drama
ALCOHOL: 13%
TASTING NOTES 🥂✨
👀  A subtle yellow color with pale yellow edge and hues of light green
👃  tropical fruits such as pineaple and peach stand out at first smell, after swirling lemon notes come along
👅  At the first attempt citrus flavors dominates the palate, at the second attempt one could taste the sea grass and acidity of the Assyrtiko a greek grape that gives the greek character to this white blend.
This Greek wine is one of the main ones availables at Greek Restaurants in Astoria, New York and you could not go wrong with this one if you want to pair it with seafods or salads.

Other vintages

I have also tried the vintages 2017, 2018 and 2019 and the medium acidity goes through all the vintages that makes this staple wine to pair with seafood plates.
