3 alternatives to the Classic Margarita

We love wine but we also love to take breaks from wine and prepare a cocktail. Some of our favorites are Margaritas and Gin and Tonics. According to the National Calendar every February 22nd we celebrate National Margarita Day. The typical way to celebrate is with the Classic Margarita. However, we have 3 margarita alternatives for the classic recipe!

Margarizo

Ingredients:

2oz. IZO Mezcal 1 Lime, Juiced 1/2 oz. Triple Sec

Directions:

Simply cut the lime in half, reserving a slice for garnish. Salt the rim of a small glass filled with ice. Place additional ice into a shaker, then fill it with the fresh-squeezed lime juice, Mezcal, and Triple Sec. Shake and strain the liquid into the glass. Add the lime slice garnish and enjoy. 

Sangarita Cocktail Recipe

Ingredients:

1.5oz Round Barn Distillery’s Blue Flame Agave
• 2oz Sour Mix
• 1oz Triple Sec
Round Barn’s Flavor Trip Red Sangria

Directions

  1. Fill glass 1/3 way full of ice.
  2. Pour in agave, sour mix, and triple sec.
  3. Top the rest of the glass with red sangria.
  4. Squeeze 1 lime wedge into the glass.
  5. Garnish with a lime wedge.

Watermelon Margarita

Ingredients

2 oz Tequila
• 2oz Lime
• Watermelon slices, mint, salt and powder sugar as desired
• Soda

Directions

Add lime, watermelon, mint, salt, and powdered sugar into a glass and muddle together! Top with ice and soda and Tequila
